Do you have facial tension that is impacting your day to day life? Several symptoms of facial tension are:
Heaviness around eyes
Jaw clicking
Tingling
Headaches
Neck aches
Discomfort around jaw
Tenderness around jaw, temples and under eyebrows
The Temporomandibular joints (TMJ) are the 2 joints that connect your lower jaw to your skull. More specifically, they are the joints that slide and rotate in front of each ear, and consist of the mandible (the lower jaw) and the temporal bone (the side and base of the skull). These complex little joints can cause a lot of trouble for people if they are holding tension in this area.
There are 50 muscles in your face and tension can build up from things such as stress, clenching, grinding, poor posture and emotional troubles. All of these things can lead to TMJ Dysfunction. There's always exercises and little techniques that you can do at home to get long longer lasting results and little habits that you can make and bring into your life to help ease your facial tension at home. In this online masterclass I will be teaching you massage techniques, stretches and jaw exercises and we will discuss the natural ways you can ease the tension and pain from your own home.
Meet Claire
Fascinated by the body’s ability to heal itself, Claire became a Massage Therapist to help other people achieve good health and wellbeing through holistic practices which stimulate the body and mind.
Her career began at Neals Yard Therapy Rooms, where she gained experience in various techniques and adapted these specifically to meet the individual needs of clients. Claire went on to join the luxury cruise line, Holland America, as a Spa Therapist. Accommodating an older clientele onboard gave her the opportunity to help with various conditions, such as Arthritis and Fibromyalgia, observing how massage had the ability to ease symptoms and alleviate pain.
Claire has since trained and worked with Facegym, specialising in face massage as a natural alternative to anti-ageing and effective tension release. Her focus now specifically targets the jaw and relieves symptoms associated with TMJ disfunction, where Claire takes a whole body approach in helping to combat facial tension for good. The ongoing experience of helping people feel better about themselves through looser jaws has been highly rewarding, and Claire continues to deepen her knowledge in sustaining a healthy body and mind for all.
