Hypnotherapy is a therapy that uses hypnosis to help treat mental and physical health conditions, and can be utilised in changing habits.


Angie’s Hypnotherapy Approach:

I believe our own minds and bodies are our best way in resolving unwanted issues in our lives. Whilst we may try to push them away, ignore them or forget about them, symptoms, emotions and behaviours are messages from the brain that something needs addressing, before being able to resolve and move on. Therefore my approach to Hypnotherapy and NLP is rooted in deep listening, with a real curiosity behind how and why these issues have manifested. By guiding you through a deep and powerful conversation with yourself, it’s you who discovers the answers and the steps you need to make this change.

Sessions are all 1:1, friendly, supportive and fully confidential, enabling you to be deeply relaxed so you can step into your best state. You’ll likely discover something new about yourself along the way. Sessions are an hour, but I generally ask clients to allow a little more, as the most important thing is progress. If there’s something difficult that you’ve been living with in your life that you feel truly ready to fix and move on from, I’ll help you make that change.


What to expect in a session with Angie:

The first session is very much about gathering all the information around the issue, what it is, really understanding it and how it’s showing up in the lives. Then we move onto what it is that they really want - what is this change, what does it look like to them, how would it feel. This process in itself can be quite intriguing to start thinking about what this new and positive future is. From here, once we have all of this information we can start to move onto some of the really incredible and transformative processes to start to make this change right away.

Hypnotherapy as a process is incredibly kind, can be very intriguing, deeply relaxing and transformative. You’ll start by easily becoming comfortable and relaxed, a bit like a deep mediation if that’s something you’re familiar with, or maybe think of your favourite thing you do to relax - preparing a meal, watching your favourite TV programme, walking the dog, reading a book, taking a bath - whatever, but think of how easily you just ease into that, without having to think, so that it’s almost automatic. You can have your eyes open or closed and I’ll be guiding you through, asking questions, offering up questions you may want to ask yourself to help get to the root of any issues and messages the mind and body really wants you to know, before they can be resolved and you can full move on with your life.

All of sessions are conducted over Zoom so you can fully relax and within the comfort of your own space.


PICKING YOUR PACKAGE:

  1. HIGHER-SELF — Accessing your higher self can bring a huge amount of positive change to your life! Your higher self is the most true you, and a part of you that can unlock clarity, and direction for you to be completely at one with yourself. This program allows you to connect and talk directly to the higher self. It’s not always a clear road, sometimes blocks need to be removed, beliefs changed, and outdated issues finally resolved. Once the connection is made, you may get answers, instructions, or guidance over time. [2 hours]

  2. LIFE ALIGN — Sometimes there’s lots going on. You might be anxious, have food intolerances/digestion issues, there may be problems at work or in your relationships, and on top of this you’re not looking after yourself in the way you’d like. This can then bring down your mood, energy, and make you feel stuck. And if you don’t know where to start this change... then we can work together to bring complete alignment where things might be disconnected, neglected, or needing a fix. [12x 1hr sessions over 3 months]

  3. ALLERGIES & INTOLERANCES — This package covers allergies/intolerances with: 1. Foods - gluten, dairy, egg, etc 2. Hayfever/pollen, and dust allergies 3. Insect allergies - e.g bees & wasps. Regardless of how long you've been living with these issues, hypnotherapy can be very effective in bringing about quick and significant change. It can reduce symptoms or eliminate them, allowing you to move freely & comfortably. [3 sessions]

  4. ILLNESS & INJURY — Are you feeling like your illness/injury lingers or isn’t healing as you hoped? These sessions are made to support and accelerate your recovery from illness, surgery, and injury. By harnessing the powerful mind-body connection, you will foster quicker and focused healing. These sessions alleviate pain, reduce stress, address emotional trauma, and can seamlessly complement any existing treatment. [6 sessions]

  7. SLEEP — Are you tired of restless nights that leave you drained? Sleeplessness can occur due to racing thoughts and anxiety. In your sessions, we'll tackle your disrupting emotions and beliefs.   8. HABIT CHANGES — We all have vices - be that smoking, or sugar, or even phone use, many of us find ourselves in cycles that we desperately want to break. You may have tried many methods but still feel misaligned with goals and unable to change.   9. PHOBIAS & FEARS — You don’t have to continue living with phobias or enduring extreme fears. Whether it’s flying, needles, or any other fear, I’ve addressed them all! Hypnotherapy can work wonders for overcoming phobias. Imagine reprogramming your mind to respond differently in those situations, enabling you to live life to the fullest. What makes Hypnotherapy so effective?

There are some days I think there’s nothing hypnotherapy can’t help change or fix. I see it as a type of mind-body medicine that helps us access our subconscious minds, which is like our central control panel to our whole being. It’s where all of our automated functions and behaviours are stored. It’s the motherboard for any re-wiring, updating or remodelling that it might be in need of. And once our central control panel is totally tip-top, the rest of our brain-body connection becomes totally optimised along with it. It brings everything into balance.

Hypnotherapy's effectiveness stems from a few key mechanisms in how our brains function:

Brain Activity Changes: During hypnosis, brain imaging studies show decreased activity in the conscious mind (our aware, super switched-on part of our brains) and increased activity in areas involved in focused attention and emotional regulation (our unconscious mind). This creates a state where people are more receptive to therapeutic suggestions. i.e If someone wants to start exercising more to get healthier. They might make that decision, but the conscious mind might start coming up with excuses like; it might be hard, I’m too busy, I need to buy new trainers first, new kit etc. But by relaxing the conscious mind, decreasing it’s activity, we can bypass that, and instead talk directly to the unconscious mind, and send it the instruction that exercising more regularly is a good, positive thing that will bring a number of benefits to the body and ultimately feel really good.

Other mechaisms include:

Enhanced Suggestibility: In the hypnotic state, people tend to be more open to new ideas and perspectives. This makes it easier to reframe negative thought patterns or behaviors that may be deeply ingrained.

Access to Subconscious: The relaxed state of hypnosis can help people access memories, emotions, and patterns that might be difficult to reach in normal consciousness. This can be particularly useful for addressing deeply rooted issues or trauma.

Physical Relaxation Response: Hypnosis triggers the body's natural relaxation response, reducing stress hormones like cortisol and increasing feel-good chemicals like endorphins. This physiological change can help with pain management and anxiety reduction.

Focused Attention: By filtering out distractions, hypnosis allows people to concentrate intensely on specific goals or changes they want to make. This focused attention can strengthen the impact of therapeutic suggestions.

Bypass Critical Thinking: While in hypnosis, the analytical part of the mind becomes less active, which can help reduce resistance to change and allow new perspectives to take root more easily.
