Therapeutic Writing Workshop with Claire Sands
Date: Tuesday 21st October
Time: 7.30pm - 9pm
Price: £25
Hosted: Online via Google Meet
Writing has long been used as a therapeutic tool to assist in challenging times. Research shows that writing can be good for our wellbeing. Shifting focus from the external to internal world allows us to explore thoughts, emotions, and process experiences.
Releasing our words onto the page is a wonderful opportunity for self-expression. At the start of the workshop, we will relax into the space with a mindfulness exercise. I will then guide us through writing prompts to enhance creativity and encourage words to flow.
Therapeutic writing can take many forms, and regardless of the type of writing you do, a regular practice can be empowering, inspirational and help you find purpose.
This workshop is designed for relaxation and enjoyment. You are not required to share anything aloud, unless you wish to do so.
All writing levels are welcome, and no experience is needed. All you need is paper and pen, or whichever writing tool works best for you.
Please be aware, payment will be required upfront - Claire will email you a payment link upon confirmation of your spot reservation.
Meet Claire
Fascinated by the body’s ability to heal itself, Claire became a Massage Therapist to help other people achieve good health and wellbeing through holistic practices which stimulate the body and mind.
Her career began at Neals Yard Therapy Rooms, where she gained experience in various techniques and adapted these specifically to meet the individual needs of clients. Claire went on to join the luxury cruise line, Holland America, as a Spa Therapist. Accommodating an older clientele onboard gave her the opportunity to help with various conditions, such as Arthritis and Fibromyalgia, observing how massage had the ability to ease symptoms and alleviate pain.
Claire has since trained and worked with Facegym, specialising in face massage as a natural alternative to anti-ageing and effective tension release. Her focus now specifically targets the jaw and relieves symptoms associated with TMJ disfunction, where Claire takes a whole body approach in helping to combat facial tension for good. The ongoing experience of helping people feel better about themselves through looser jaws has been highly rewarding, and Claire continues to deepen her knowledge in sustaining a healthy body and mind for all.
